Remember when?

toothpaste came in a few flavors? Now you can get a 1/2 caff mocha toothpaste with mouthwash and glitter.

bandaids had little strings you pulled to open? hurt and bloody and stumbling w/the blasted string lol

When you took a bath you grabbed a BAR of soap and a WASHCLOTH now it's all liquid body soap and poofs

if you wanted to turn the television up or change the channel you actually got up and did it....well actually your parents bellowed from the living room you came running and stood there turning the dial or adjusting the volume until it met their approval

these are the things i think about while i'm trying to fall asleep.....what others do you remember?

Joshua didn't have a nap yesterday, he is approaching the age of no nap but is not quite there yet. Every skipped nap day means an absolutely brutal 6:30 til bedtime but if we put him to bed early he wakes up as if he's taken a nap and is recharged and ready to go at 11pm so we deal with the emotional mess that is napless boy. Last nights meltdown was at least a little humorous. Jeremy is very shy, he locks the door when he goes to the bathroom, changes clothes, anything that involves even the most minute nudity warrants a closed locked door. Now, just as a frame of reference I dont think I've used the bathroom with a locked door since I've been married and the door has been ajar since Kaity's birth on almost all occasions. Last night Jeremy decided to change clothes once he was already in the room and simply skipped the locking the door....in walks Joshy. I was downstairs so I'm not sure the level of nudity that was involved but fast forward a couple minutes and Joshua comes downstairs followed by his Daddy saying "Go ask your mom buddy" So an obviously emotional boychild says "Mom do i have a big penis?" I was a little shocked and looked at Jeremy who just gave me the 'answer the boy' look so I said "You have a perfect Joshypot sized penis" to which he flopped down on a chair and said "I got a little penis....a baby penis and it's not fair" Okay he has a slight speech issue and hearing his little voice was priceless and funny to me. I tried to not laugh at him but assured him that his penis was fine. Seriously, does it start at 3?!?! He then says "Daddy has a big huuuuuuuuuuge penis and I have a little stinky penis" He was so upset like almost to tears, he called his gramma to tell her the horrible news that he didnt have a big huuuuuuuuuge penis and that he was "frustrated" by the whole thing. It doesnt translate as well into font as it did irl last night, I wish I'd have had the camcorder out because it was priceless! I am hoping his sudden penis awareness is from potty training and will eventually grow old!

No Fair!

"aww man dis id dinky" (aww man this is stinky) joshua declares loudly in a public restroom.

"what is stinky buddy?" I ask w/trepidation...oh the places this could lead.

"well kaity no have a penid and hers pee tums out her bid hole...no fair!" (well kaity doesn't have a penis and pees out of her big hole...no fair)

So there I stood in the stall at Red Robin trying to quietly explain that Kaity didn't get to have her pees come out like he thought and she did indeed have to pee and poop from separate places. Oh my this boychild of mine! And he's still not convinced that somehow he got totally cheated because he has a penis and his sister doesn't.

SOOO Strange

Vitamin C not included

But oh do we have some orangey goodness going on in my garage right now! In case you've been missing me and wonder what in the world I have been doing instead of updating you on the ins and outs of boredom I have been camping. At the dodge dealership! The children have gotten to be on a first name basis with the water fountain and all the display models on the floor. They named them all and were quite saddened when we showed up yesterday to see that Snowball (the big white caravan) had been sold and removed from the show room. They took a drive down the street with the challenger while joshua and kaity were secret agents. All in all they survived pretty well with the hours we spent working out the deal and getting all the papers signed and the van delivered from another dealership 150 miles away. I am so excited. It's much more orange and vibrant that it is online or in any pictures I've seen. The children are excited about the features they have and we're still trying to figure it all out but so far so good and I should be around more since we are done camping :)
